Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics was established in October, 1952. It is located in Nanjing, the ancient capital of six dynasties. Minggugong Campus is situated on the remains of the ancient Ming Palace, and Jiangjunlu Campus is situated in Jiangning Economic and Technological Development Zone, covering an area of more than 460 acres with a building area of 856, 000 square meters. The library has a collection of over 2, 000, 000 volumes. Now the total number of registered students is 23, 600, including 15, 800 undergraduates, 6, 800 postgraduates, and 300 international students. NUAA also has 5, 200 part-time students. NUAA has a staff of 3, 000, among whom over 1, 600 are faculty members and researchers, including about 900 professors and associate professors, 11 CAS academicians, 269 Ph.D. supervisors, 3 members of Academic Degree Committee under the State Council, 4 "Changjiang Scholar Award" professors, 13 professors with national or provincial recognition for their outstanding contributions, 135 experts who enjoy special government allowance.

今天，我参加了乐学参观南京航空航天大学的活动。早上8：00左右我与爸爸来到“铁心桥小学”对面的“蓝湾咖啡厅”，目的是坐上乐学参观南京航空航天大学活动的客车。
不一会儿，客车就来了，我兴高采烈的上了车，找到座位坐了下来，等待到达目的地。大约过了十几分钟就到了参观南京航空航天大学，我们在小肥羊老师与笑笑姐姐的安排下下了车。
下车后首先看到的就是校门上“南京航空航天大学”这8个醒目的大字。走进去，是一个幽静的“小区”，有一栋栋挺拔的教学楼，清澈见底的东华湖，顽强的龙柏......我们在这幽静的“小区”里转了十几分钟，开始走向了第一个活动地点—"航天博物馆"。
一进去我就被一架架飞机吸引了，真想马上就解散，小肥羊老师看出了我们的心思，团体讲解了一两分钟就解散了，我先走向了靠近门口的145歼12（中国）超音速战斗机，对着简介抄了起来原来它是1969年开始研制的最轻，最小级的轻型超音速战斗机，机长10.3米，机高3.73米。到处能打，到处能藏，被称为空中“李向阳”。抄完我又去抄其他的飞机简介如：两吨级，第一款申请设计专利的国产直升机—ac311直升机。我国第一架测绘成功的轻型直升机—701等等，然后又跟着小肥羊老师参观了“飞机历史廊”，原来飞机的历史是这样的：风筝—孔明灯—竹蜻蜓—鸟人（未成功）—热气球—飞艇—滑翔机—1903年美国莱特兄弟发明世界上第一架飞机。历史真漫长!
参观完"航天博物馆"，我们来到了原来集合的草坪上进行采访，采访要求：四人一组，40分钟进行采访；采访范围：整个草坪；采访对象：所有在南京航天航空大学就读的的大学生。我与三个来自板桥小学的女生在一组，我们一开始就分好了工，我负责找人，我们四个人齐心协力，一口气采访了四位大学生，只用了五分钟不到，我们休息了一会儿，当再次站起来的时候发现没有采访对象了。负责找人的我可着急了！离开队伍找了起来，功夫不负有心人，经过我的细心查找终于有了对象，可是却找不到团队了，我不甘心到嘴的肥肉被别人抢去，鼓起勇气自己采访了起来，一连问了两个人，正在我寻找第三个对象时发现了团队，我飞奔过去，与她们交流采访结果，最后我们一共采访了12个人。是所有团队里最多的，真的是人多力量大，柴多火焰高啊！
最后我们在小肥羊老师与笑笑姐姐的带领下依依不舍的离开了南京航空航天大学！度过了一个愉快的上午！

我是南航的，在南航呆了四年，感觉南航还是有所比较有特色的大学！不过就业方面比较窄，主要去航空航天结构，还有机场。北京的话，我有同学毕业后去航天二院，国家近几年对航空航天的投入比较大，发展还不错！也有去首都机场做机务（只要是北京户口的很好进），不过做机务很累！要去外企的话优势不明显，毕竟也算不上一流大学！我知道就是这些！

南京航空工业专科学校（1952—1956）
1951年11月，航空工业局命令在南京511厂成立南京学校建校委员会，开始建校筹备工作。
1952年6月，校名确定为南京航空工业专科学校。华东军区调1200名现役军人进校补课，准备开学。
1952年10月19日，校长邓永清主持开学典礼，首届学生973人。10月20日正式上课。
1955年5月，二机部建议南航专迁到西安并升格为航空学院，校领导表示有困难，后决定华东航空学院西迁，南航工专留宁发展。
南京航空学院（1956—1993）
1956年4月28日，南京航空工业专科学校升格为南京航空学院，开始部分招收本科生。
1956年，华东航空学院迁离南京后，原华航卫岗校园划归南京航空学院。
